Altenvogtshof Freiburg

Name of the farm:

The name of the farm is based upon the transfer of the vogts office onto another farmer. ( a Vogt is a noblemans or a clergymans administrator)

Our estate

Our traditional enclosed farm is surrounded by large areas of forest and meadows used for agriculture. The dwelling-house built of stone dates from 1872 and consists of 5 rooms in rustical style.

Our livestock includes cows, cats and hares living in our stables. Our two natural ponds offer the possibility of angling, swimming, relaxing and canoeing. With a water surface of 3000 sqm.

The family has been grounded on the traditional convention between the generations for 500 years now and has been subsisting upon forests, agriculture and distillery. Since 1959 Mrs Sophie Hug runs the farm in traditional ways. The continuity of the farm ist secured by Mrs Hugs son, Thomas Hug.
